Who We Are:

The Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) is a statewide nonprofit organization of over 3,700 members, dedicated to promoting the musical development of all Pennsylvanians. The present membership evolved from a small group of band directors dating from 1933. Today, the organization includes those engaged in music instruction at all levels, from preschool through college and university, as well as those in the music industry, merchandising and publishing. The organization promotes and supports quality music education, learning and performance as well as promoting and supporting music education in schools and communities. PMEA is affiliated with The National Association for Music Education, NAfME.

District 6 serves the schools within Blair, Bedford, Cambria and Somerset Counties in western Pennsylvania

Music Makes us Stronger Fund

The Music Makes Us Stronger Fund was created to help support individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer, with preference given to the following groups, respectively: 
1) a student who attends a school within the Conemaugh Township Area School District or an employee of the Conemaugh Township School District
2) a Conemaugh Township resident
3) an alumnus of the Conemaugh Township Area High School music program or a child of a Conemaugh Township Area High School music program alumnus
4) a student involved in a music program in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 6 (Bedford, Blair, Cambria and Somerset counties).
